Low Fidelity Design Across most pages, they use either a 2 or 3 column design with some aspects varying from being on the left or the right. This is usually made by alternating text and images to create a vining effect down the page. This is mainly done on the “Support Us” page, which is a 2 column structure, as the 3 columns are usually used for where there needs to be lots of different options such as projects to choose from. 3 columns allow lots of detail to be included, but each of these will be buttons to take you into their own separate page where more detail on the project will be shown. The “News and Updates” page would be an ever-expanding page, so it would start by only showing a few posts at a time. This would stop the user being overwhelmed by many posts, so instead there is a “See More” button which would allow you to slowly add more to your page. This would also make it easier to navigate as if you were looking for a specific post, you can gradually work down the list instead of all at once. App The overall general functionality of the app will be the same as the web, such as being able to view individual projects and events on their own pages, but the main difference between both is that the app is a lot more stripped back compared to the web. There’s a bigger focus on shorter text with a larger impact, to cut down the amount of text on the screen at once. There is about half the amount shown on the app compared to web, which helps users not feel overwhelmed by information but also encourages them to visit the website if they would like to find out more about the organisation. Originally, the navigation menu was set up the same way that the web bar was with it being 5 separate squares across under the header. After receiving feedback however, it was mentioned that this isn’t ideal for a phone app as it’s harder to reach the buttons towards the middle. Because of this, it was then changed to a drop-down menu that is in the top corner, so that the user can click this then get larger buttons to press down the side instead to make them more accessible. On the “Home” and “Support Us” page, the first section would have a slide show background, meaning more images can be used but in a much smaller area. This also would keep the page interesting as the changing images would add a constant variation to the pages.
