The mid fidelity design versions have brought in some basic functionality within both the website version and the app version. Each menu tab now has functionality, allowing you to navigate between each page and back easily. Clicking any of these will then redirect you to the corresponding page, similar to the menu bar on the top of every page. On the app version, a similar concept is used, except in a more compact way that is more friendly to an app design to allow for an easier user experience. The different page summaries have been condensed into one area with the textual information being removed. Instead, a related image along with text on top has been added, with arrows on either side to allow the user to select a different section. Clicking one of these sections will then navigate you to the related page, allowing the viewer to then view specific details that are not found on the landing page, unlike on the web version. The reason this has been done, is because around 80% of users stated that they only would download the app after viewing the web version, meaning they would already know the basics of where everything is. With the app and web following similar structures, these different sections will still be easy enough to find on the app, even with less detail of what is on each page. Another interactive element that has been added specifically to the web version is on the About page. It includes 2 sections with an overall similar idea to the feature on the app landing page, which allows the user to view different members of the team and also different sponsors with both having an about/message from the member or sponsor. This helps to build a personal connection between the user and the team helping to create the festival which is beneficial to the user as it helps them understand the motivation and goals of the team. This section however, has been cut down on the app version so that it is easier to find information that is completely necessary. Although it gives a personal touch, users using the app on the go will want to find straight to the point information that is needed there and then instead of extra information such as the team section. After testing and viewing what the web and app would look like when in use, I have realised that the features on the page are quite large and could be scaled down. Because this is mid fidelity, there is still flexibility on how the pages can be designed, meaning that when creating a high fidelity version more empty space can be added either side to narrow the focus of the viewer and make everything seem better scaled. This will increase the readability of the site as although the text will be smaller, more will fit on the page. It will also cause less tiredness for the viewers eyes as they will not have to move as much to read the information with it being closer together. It would also be less tiring for their fingers as they would not have to scroll down as much either as the pages wouldn’t be as long.
