Requirements Gathering and Analysis

The main target audience would be families, with the focus on having an enjoyable day out. The last thing they would want is for it to be stressful and complicated to plan and find details for the festival. Because of this, there would be a clear section on both web and app to show timings of bands, buses, and the open and closing of the site. There would be a different section for confectionary details, so if there are any dietary requirements needed, then it is clear what is available on site.

The stakeholders consist of the event organisers, event sponsors, and the performing bands. For the event to be considered a success by them, there would need to be multiple goals met. Firstly, there would need to be a notable presence both in the area and online. Posters around the town would draw in the older generation that doesn’t use social media, as they will still be able to find out information. There would also be social media posts, so it is easy to like and share them to gain attention. Online posts would also allow for videos and audio, with these also being incorporated into the website. This would not need to be on the app companion as these would be posted on social media apps, but the web page can integrate the posts into it.

Accessibility is a top concern for the target audience, as many residents in Hornsea are on the older side. However, accessibility isn’t a problem as it is on ground level with no need for steps or long distances as it is centrally located in the town. Along with the buses right outside, all that would be needed is a short walk from each stop, with multiple car parks in the area too if travelling by car. These would all be stated on both app and web to ease any concerns people may have of this.
