Defining the UX

“Music In The Garden” would be a weekend festival based in Hornsea at the Parish Hall Gardens. It would feature live music from local bands and be primarily supported by local sponsors and donations from attendees. The money raised would then be put towards improving the garden space, allowing it to be used for other events throughout the year.

Because this is primarily focused towards a local audience, the need for onsite accommodation is unnecessary. However, if people are travelling a distance, then there are many camp and caravan sites in the area, allowing the festival to be accessed from there. Links to any camping sites would not be necessary, as it would be easier, if needed, to look on Google maps so they know exactly where and how far away it is. For people living locally (Hornsea, Beverley, Hull areas), there is a bus stop right outside the entrance with hourly buses throughout the day direct to Hull and Beverley. Using the buses would be encouraged as the would cut down the emissions from cars and would allow the live band timings to line up with the bus times. Both the act times and bus times could be implemented into a linked timetable on the website, along with the companion app being able to track the buses to notify if they are delayed.

Because the site is also in the middle of the town, foot traffic can have a constant flow in and out, allowing people to also enjoy the surrounding area. This will stop the grounds being too crowded. People would be able to bring picnics along with the option of buying food on site such as BBQs, cakes, and drinks (with dietary options being available) with vegetarian options also being available. This will help raise money but also cut down on food needed to provide. This would mean everyone has an option for food, and if not, then the shops around would allow them easy access to other purchases for meals to bring in.
