Video Content

Many posts nowadays use a looping format where the end of the video transitions into the beginning, especially on posts such as tutorials or reviews. Although the posts for the Eco Garden wouldn’t be either of these types of content, the same format can be used by looping the logo animation and fading in and out to the content in between. The user will be instantly greeted by the organisation logo, allowing them to recognise straight away who has posted even with a quick glance.  For short form content such as Instagram reels, the average length is 7-15 seconds but can be up to 15 minutes1 with the aspect ratio being either square or rectangular. For this example post, it uses a square aspect ratio with a 720p x 720p resolution with a length of 18 seconds. Although it is slightly longer than average, it gives plenty of time to advertise the event and show the organisation’s logo. With it also being a slightly lower resolution and short length, the file size becomes a lot smaller allowing for quicker loading times and taking up less space on the services servers. This also causes a decrease in the organisation’s carbon footprint.  1R. Bano (2024) Instagram Reels Length: How Long Should Your Reels Be? Available Online: https://www.socialinsider.io/blog/instagram-reels-length/[Accessed 03/11/2025] For the video used in the background, this has been given by the organisation from a previous event held there called “Music in the garden”. I had also previously designed a logo for that event so added that in too to show how events can be promoted. This simple format is easy to follow for the viewer with lots of space to add extra detail if needed, however for text being used on top of the video content it needs to have a clear contrast in colour to be readable which can sometimes be hard to achieve. Although it might not look as good on the video itself, these details will be clear enough in the description and/or title of the post. The description will also allow for extra information to be shown that isn’t included in the video, but the viewer often needs to get enough interest from the video alone to read the description too.
