Link to full app and web – https://www.figma.com/design/mwA1FAuhNfqvzBvuBHWXXw/HF-Pollinate-With-Extras?node-id=0-1&t=DrPec5qjI9FPjWRR-1 Both the web and app share many similar features such as the same pages, rough layout and header and footer, however there are some large differences too. The first noticeable difference is that on the web the menu is in a bar format across the bottom of the header. Because the user will be using a mouse, every part of the page is just as accessible as another as your mouse is not being restricted in reach meaning the whole bar can be spread out across the width of the page. For the app however, reaching the middle of the page with your thumb can become straining depending on how you hold your phone or how big it is. Instead, a dropdown menu from the flower in the top left corner can be used to bring the different selectable pages allowing the user to then easily access them from one side. Another difference is that there are more animated backgrounds on the mobile app. Because there is less space on phone screens, there was the choice of either having to scroll a lot more to get through the same amount of information as the web or remove and condense information into smaller areas. To reduce the likeliness of tiring the users with lots of scrolling, images were condensed into slideshows at the top of some pages. This allowed pages to feel less crowded, but the animated background means that the user can also be greeted with a fresh view each time they visit the page, encouraging them to come back more often. Both versions have the ability to navigate to singular projects, blog posts, and also a depiction of how the organisation’s social media pages would be presented. It creates a seamless journey throughout all of the organisation’s online presence to easily show the continuity throughout the branding.
